Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

• Understand the importance of emergency preparedness and evacuation.
• Identify different types of workplace emergencies that may require evacuation.
• Recognise emergency alarms, evacuation routes, exits, and assembly points.
• Understand their roles and responsibilities during an emergency evacuation.
• Follow established emergency evacuation procedures safely and efficiently.
• Assist in maintaining calm, orderly, and effective evacuation processes.
• Communicate and report appropriately during and after an emergency.
• Identify potential hazards that may affect safe evacuation.
• Participate effectively in emergency evacuation drills and exercises.

• Assigning roles and responsibilities (e.g., Evacuation Leaders, Floor Wardens, First Aiders)
• Communication protocols during an evacuation (alarms, announcements)
• Evacuation Drills - Theory and Practice
• Different types of emergency drills (fire, active shooter, medical emergency)
• Conducting a practice evacuation drill
• Importance of following designated exit routes and procedures
• Evacuating individuals with disabilities or mobility limitations
• Managing large crowds during evacuation
• Procedures for evacuating from high-rise buildings 

Certification

• Certificate of Competence from WWISE upon successful completion

Assessment

There will be an assessment at the end of the course. 

• Delegates have to complete the assessment with a minimum score of 60% to receive a Certificate of Competence.
• Delegates who score between 50% and 59% will get a second attempt at the assessment. 
• If you fail the second attempt, will need to repurchase the course
• Delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance regardless of a pass or fail.
